It looks like the English Democrats in Medway are about to implode after the 'man from Uncles' won the election to become Chairman of the Regional Party.
I don't shed a tear for the demise of any right wing organisation but I do find it odd that many of its former members choose to join a federalist Conservative Party, and which formerly shared few core values of the English Democrats.
It really is a matter of principles. The Conservative party that has never, does ever, can never represent working class communities.
Some of Sean's views on the Conservatives can be found on his blog; some of the more juicy quotes below:
"I was born near the end of the Thatcher era so cannot remember it much, but everyone around me who does recall the times have said that anyone who remembers Thatcher and her legacies should be very worried!"
"Under the Tory administration we are paying too much for politically correct non-jobs to mess up the place and make the area look a bombsite. Enough is enough!...We would build upon the current infrastructure – preserving the historic, updating the old and constructing the new. Only then would Medway stop being percieved as a ‘dump’"
"The effects of the policies of successive British Establishment governments have now manifested themselves in the anarchy mass disorder, rioting and looting. Our cities have been transformed, our youths lack any respect for authority, our police are handcuffed by political correctness and our communities have broken down and can no longer defend themselves."
"it was also quite entertaining to see anarchists take hold in some parts of these protests, just shows that even Trade Union & Labour marches aren’t immune from radicalists.."
"After a low turn out at the polls on May 5th, the results were finally declared at 7am on the 6th. It was a Tory landslide, and for some reason Rehman Chishti MP was prancing around like a little school girl when he was reelected.. It’s disgraceful that he even stood as he’s still an MP – surely an MP’s salary is enough?"
"Today medway elects a new council for 4 years and they’ve a choice, the old gravy train politics of the lib/lab/con, or a new era of politics with the English Democrats."
And this post on the 'leader's debate' is too extreme to even comment upon.
A non-winnable Council ward in 2015 and being used as leaflet fodder for the same 'establishment' he has spent his political career trying to rally against.
Good luck!
